The media have FINALLY got to show their driving experience with the EX90.

The EX90 has a LIDAR system which is amazing but is not ready yet as Volvo is making sure it is safe. They say it will come as a future software update as it is hardware ready to use the LIDAR.

The car will also launch without Apple CarPlay and some other features that will be made available with an OTA update in the near future.

According to Out of Spec Reviews, the driving assistance, or auto steer could be used at up to 95 MPH and did a good job, although it cancelled many lane change assists. However, it did work, and when it did, it was smooth and amazing. It displayed the vehicles around it very well and adaptive cruise control was great. Some of the missing features regarding LIDAR will be in use soon which will bring many more features, like detecting small objects in the road over 820 ft away giving you time to maneuver around them if needed. All the driver assistance in the EX90 was performed without the LIDAR system. Software excellence just a OTA update away!

They also mentioned the ride quality was amazing and it was very quiet. That on the highways with the Bowers and Wilkins sound system will be amazing. Stay tuned for more EX90 updates.
