Fossil fuels are the root of climate change emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, but what if they suddenly dissapeared.
If we suddenly halted fossil fuels, we would have power outages, economic collapse, basically making a global crisis. That being said, a full transition from fossil fuels is not viable. However, a gradual phase out of fossil fuels is what we need, but many energy companies are not willing to do so. Why? For profit, of course.
The point is that we can’t just one day stop using fossil fuels, but to slowly phase them out allowing time to implement clean energy sources across the globe.
