What is the Pakistan Floods?

Pakistan is experiencing destructive monsoon floods intensified by climate change.

They began in late June (June 26, 2025) just as the monsoon season began bringing flash floods and landslides. In the Punjab province, they got their worst floods in history, causing displacement and affecting 4 million people.

Earlier this month, river flooding intensified in Pakistan’s agricultural centers. As of 5 days ago, the UN warns of “huge needs” as millions are still displaced, infrastructure has been destroyed leaving schools/homes inaccessible, and health risk is high due to waterborne diseases.
